Do restaurant servers treat diners differently if they know they'll use coupons, discounts, or gift cards? I've heard that sometimes it's better to NOT let a server know about these things as soon as you're seated because many of them assume that they will not get a good tip, so they will end up giving you mediocre service. This seemed to be commonplace when I worked at a resort. We would get 25% discounts at the restaurants, and most of the servers I spoke to said that employees were the worst tippers. Govt wastes money on the gift cards and now we will have to pay more for the digital programming. Funny thing is if you opted to keep analog equipment you will be paying higher price for more and better features you will not be able to use. BUT you can say you got your 1-2 converter boxes a little cheaper :). How nice! Why can't these gift cards be used towards converter boxes or towards the price of a new DIGITAL TV? Stupid if you ask me. Write your congressman or women and find out why the department of commerce will not allow us to apply 40 dollars towards a new tv! Its beef and a statement all together. NOW when everything finally does go digital the cable companys will have the right to raise the subscription fees because all digital programming will cost them more. So let me try to sum this up. Govt wastes money on the gift cards and now we will have to pay more for the digital programming. Funny thing is if you opted to keep analog equipment you will be paying higher price for more and better features you will not be able to use. BUT you can say you got your 1-2 converter boxes a little cheaper :). How nice! Why can't these gift cards be used towards converter boxes or towards the price of a new DIGITAL TV? Stupid if you ask me. Write your congressman or women and find out why the department of commerce will not allow us to apply 40 dollars towards a new tv!
