Why do people pay more than face value for Visa gift cards? I've sold Visa gift cards on eBay and it boggles my mind that people pay more than face value for the gift cards. Right now, there is a $200 card selling for $300+! :confused: My question is, why would you pay so much more for such a card? I have talked to several teachers on other MBs already about this and they seem to agree that those types of items are always appreciated but after 20 years of teaching, they do pile up. One teacher who has been teaching for 10 years said she purchased an additional Christmas tree last year to hold all of the ornaments she has received over those years. If anyone can give any insight on this at all, I would really appreciate it. It seems that some sites, especially foreign sites, are requiring the Verified by Visa service to be activated on a visa payment card. I want to use a prepaid card especially when dealing with foreign sites so I wont become a victim of a potential phishing scam where they can steal my ACTUAL credit card information.
