I seen the perfect gift but now i cant find it!?
I found the perfect gift for my dad, it was like a plastic barrel that you add water to and leave for 30 days and it made lager, Ive found bitter ones but cannot find lager ones anymore, any ideas where i would get one? x

- No. Anyway, your dad can't wait 30 days for a drink.
- try ebay
- Hey. Is that anything like your looking for?
- look on ebay?

- Search beer at this site, it has a store finder as well - http://www.hawkin.com/ Pilsner is a type of lager
- I think what you're talking about is a Mr. Beer (or a copy thereof). The barrel is just the equipment, you would need to get a recipe kit for all the ingredients (there are several recipes available). These can be had just about anywhere, but are pretty crappy. A 'starter kit' from a local homebrew shop would be a lot better. The starter kit would include all of the equipment needed to homebrew. Then you would need to get an 'extract brew kit' for whatever style of brew you want to make, which would include all of the ingredients for 5 gallons of brew. This setup is a little more expensive than the Mr. Beer, but they are better quality, the brew tastes better, they make 5 gallons instead of only 2, and they are expandable if your dad ever gets serious about it. If you don't have a local homebrew shop, check out http://www.midwestsupplies.com or http://www.northernbrewer.com Also, think about getting your dad a copy of Charlie Papazian's book 'The Complete Joy of Homebrewing'. It would completely round out that present. edit: the first answerer's link looks like a pretty good deal, that is what I was talking about as far as a starter kit, and includes a pre-hopped recipe kit as well. But I would still recommend getting your dad a copy of Papazian's book to go with it.
