American Express Gift Cards and Amazon?

I'm trying to buy things off of Amazon.com with my new $50 American Express Gift Card, but it will not accept it. I've tried it with 2 different Cards and each one says I need to Revise My Credit Card Information. I've also bought something else online from 2 different sites, including Garry's Mod from Steam, so I know it works, it's just Amazon, if anyone could help me, thank you in advance!

1. I don't think they work as real AE card But there's a lot of prepaid Visa and Mastercard available Good luck !
2. i just got an ae gift card too and amazon won't let me use it....that suuuuuucks
