Can I use those Visa gift cards for online shopping?

I recently got those Visa gift cards that says you can use it anywhere Visa is accepted. I think they are called bankcards? I don't know, but can I use them online?

1. you can as long as their is a 3 digit code number on the back and you know the limit. it will be declined if you go over limit
2. This is asked every day. Basically its a visa, use it as a visa, click visa enter all the numbers as a usually credit card and it will work.
