Does a Walmart Visa Gift card require a SSN to activate?

I want to get a Visa Gift Card at Walmart but I want to know first if I need a SSN to activate it? Is the card automatically when purchased? I am talking about the Visa Gift Card not Walmart Pre-paid debit cards.

1. I am pretty sure you can buy a visa gift card with cash. So no SSN required.
2. I should think not b/c you have to purchase a credit limit to begin with. It's the same as an American Express gc. You put so much on it in the beginning & can use it anywhere until the limit is reached. However, I could be wrong. If they want your SS#, I'd take a pass on it & get a regular gc.
3. If it is a gift card then no. No gift cards require a social. And I dont think you have to call and get it activated, because thats not the way it works with gift cards.
4. You do not need a SSN to activate or use this card.
