Can you take money out of a Walmart Gift Card?

I have a Walmart giftcard and I wanna know can I take money out of it to use it for something else other than the retail store. Is it possible?

1. NO, you can not take money out of any gift card. You can only buy merchandise or groceries. And if you take back the merchandise you bought. the store will give you another gift card for the amount that you returned.
2. Sorry, no. However if you are in California, there was a state law passed in February of 2008 that says if the balance of the card is less than $10 you can get the balance back in cash.
