What's with all of these free gift card offers advertisments?
I have always wondered how Internet sites can offer free gift cards, which I see auctioned off for slightly below retail value on eBay. Are they for real? Is there a catch? Can you get gift cards for Best Buy and Wal-Mart? I know there is a catch, but I'd like to know what that catch is.

- scam, straight up old fashion scam, nobody gives you something for nothing.
- They are real. I know people who have received stuff from it. However they are not totally free. All of the sites require you to participate by accepting offers. Some of the offers are you must sign up for a year membership with netflix. Or you much fill out an application for an American Express and be approved. Or you must subscribe to a particular magazine for a year. Ect. You end up spending money to get the items your getting as a reward.
- They are not scams. Most of them anyway. And if you find a decent site, as opposed to one who spends all their money on advertising, you can get a decent payout ratio. (stay away from consumer rewards...) Basically, you do offers. Lotsa lotsa trials and such. Or, if you choose to, you can do a referral site, where you only do a couple of offers, and then you refer other people to do the same. It's not too difficult... I've received a free wii and a few hundred cash in the past couple of months. (Yup, you can get checks or paypal from these kind of sites, not just random electronics and giftcards...) Check out this informational site. It answers some questions (and you can submit more if you have them) and also has a step-by-step guide. www. geocities.com/freebies4real
