Can you use prepaid Visa gift cards to purchase items online?

There are two issues that frequently pop up: When the store goes to authenticate your card it fails due to the address. A regular credit card has an actual address tied to it. 8. If you purchase a prepaid card and it does not work online, look at the paperwork enclosed with the card. My son got one for his bday and it would not work because of the address issue. We found in the card's paperwork that he had to register the card online...after we did this, the card worked perfectly!
