Can you use American Express Gift Cards to buy items online?

Can you use AMEX gift cards to buy stuff online? If so how would it work and what would I have to do?

1. As long as the retailer accepted AMEX you should be just fine. They should work the same as any other CC or Gift card. I know that my AMEX card has the 4 digit security code on the front, unlike most credit cards that have the 3 digit code on the backside. When you buy online or over the phone you are usually required to provide this number as well. I provided a link for more info

If your information (name and address) has changed since you registered your Visa gift card, call the card issuer or go online and update your information before you use the card online.
