Free Gift Cards by answering surveys?

I entered this points to shop thing where I supposedly i can get free things by answering surveys...As i check my email I get several offers to get free walmart macys coStco american eagle gift cards... is it possible to recieve any of these things without actually putting in your credit card number?? pERSONAL eXPERIENCES ARE WELCOME!!

1. Usually, what you have to do to get them is 'complete an offer' from a list. This means signing up for magazines, getting a 'free' home equity quote, etc. Lots of problems with all of these, as they often are not free, cause you to get LOTS of spam mail, etc. What I used to use was MyPoints, where you got points for going to sites without having to complete offers. I signed up for their sponsored credit card where you got points for everything you charged. Traded those points for gift cards. THAT worked, but it is still slow going. Many other credit cards now also do this, by the way. I've never found any type of survey site that was worth the effort, though. My absolute BEST month doing surveys (without completing any fake offers) netted me a BIG $30 -- whoopee!
2. I received something like that in regular mail to do surveys for products & receive coupons for free items for doing so. They wanted my Credit card # also. when I responded I did not have one , & inquired as to what purpose they needed it for , they could not give a satisfactory answer that anyone with a little common sense would believe. So I declined. There probably are some out there that are legit, but I have no knowledge of what ones they would be*
3. If they were honest businesses, you would just get the gift card. For free. Since they are not honest, they use the word "free" to get your attention. Why would any "free" gift require your credit card number! They are thieves. As soon as they get your card number, you will be billed $400 at some website that sells electronics online. Of course, you will never receive a gift card for Macy's. That never existed.
