How much in value does gift cards go up to?

Is there a limit on values to buy gift cards with a credit card? And does gift cards have a limit on themselves. Such as Walmart, bestbuy, fry's, brandsmart USA...

1. Probably. I have bought a $500 Walmart gift card before. How much are you planning to put on there?
2. There are limits on gift cards. However, you can go up into the thousands for "pricey" gift cards.
