Does Spencer Gifts except Preit Prepaid gift cards?

I gave my friend a Preit Mall gift card, for Christmas he wants to buy a few things online at Spencer Gifts, but it's telling him it's inactive? I told him since they have their own chances are they will not except the Preit Mall gift cards? Is that right, or is there something wrong with the card?

1. PREIT Mall Gift Cards are accepted at any PREIT mall stores that take American Express. Spencer's Gift generally do accept American Express so this should not be a problem in the store. Keep in mind that this is a Mall Gift Card - your friend will need to use it at the Spencer's Gifts in the mall, not for online ordering. If your friend has a problem with the card reporting as inactive when he is at the mall store, please have him visit the Customer Service in the mall to find out the problem or get a replacement card for the balance that is remaining.
