American Express Gift Card?

Hi, I plan on buying a $200 American Express gift card so that I can buy some things off the internet. I have read some things where people's cards have been rejected and things about activation for the card. Will I need to activate my card? Register it? Can I use it right after I purchase it?

1. All you have to do is pay for it at the register, and it automatically gets activated, so you can use it right after you pay for it.
2. That is true plus there is an activation fee $5-10 .
