I got an American Express Gift Card for Christmas...?

I was hoping to buy a membership to an online game called DragonFable and when i get to the page where i type my information it constantly tells me to check my credit card numbers.. and also what name do i put in?? please answer teh second question as well.

2. A web site may not be set up to accept a gift card but only a credit card. I can't help you with on line use of the card. However, I advise you to use it soon. Gift cards are becoming a serious problem because some include fees, some have expiration dates, some get partly used and then forgotten or lost. A lot of gift cards get paid for by the buyer and never benefit the recipients. It's great for stores that sell them because often it amounts to free money.
3. American Express Gift card are good for some websites for purchases, but not payment of membership. I believe those sites need card numbers that are renewable. You cannot use this at ATMs or get a return in cash. A Gift card has a special number that most database can recognize. As long as you spend the limit before a year, it will not charge you. However, if you leave the amount in your card, as soon as the 13th month is hit, they will charge a $2.00 monthly fee until the balance is used. That said, you know that you have to call an 888 number in order to activate the card. You can also log the card number in on their website to check your balance.
