Is a Walmart gift card too boring for a 17 year old boys birthday?

I don't know what else to get him. There are not many good stores in out town. It's either a gift card to Walmart or a music store. And how much $$ should I put on the card? $30....$50.....??? The reason I chose walmart or a music store is because he just moved to my town. (used to live in California) and I don't know alot about what he likes.

It's not too boring. I'd say about $50. He should be thankful for what he gets. But I would recommend getting him a music gift card, or a gift card to a video game store.
hmm... at 17 it will get used trust me. I am 19 nad i would of liked it. but i'm a girl so i dunno. But put at least 25 dollars on it. That way he can buy a movie or a cd or anything that is a little more expensive.
a gift card is a wonderful gift to give to someone you have no idea what to buy for!! and for a boy i think a music store or a mens clothing store would be better instead of walmart and 50 bucks is certinaly a wonderful gift!!!!!
im 17 too..if it were me i'd prefer a gift card to a electronic store...the music store sounds better than walmart oo and i always get 25 bucks...so 30 is lucky :P
Walmart is great. Try 30$. They have a video game section and sports, clothing ect. 50$ might be better though. Just to show appreciation.
A gift card is wonderful because he can buy what he wants; you don't have to do that. It really depends on how much your willing to put on it, but I would get him a $25.00-$30.00 gift card for Walmart or a music store if I were you.

Not really I would say Walmart since he can go and buy what ever he wants with it. For 17 I would do 20.00 and up for family and 10.00 and up for friends it really is dependeding who you are giving it to .
It depends what hes into but if he's into video games and stuff, i would say thats an awsome gift you should put like 70 on it since thats a decent video game
At that age my parents started doing the same thing. Either will be fine, and he can buy music (just like iTunes) off the Walmart website. $40-50 is fine.
well if your a mom you could get him a ps3 if you can afford it or a season pass to cedar point its in sandusky ohio but thats only if your close im having a hard time with this question due to lack of detail
do you have a Best Buy? thats usually a great store for teen boys. if not walmart is fine. i would say probably $50
it does not matter. its the thought htat counts. anyone can find something to buy at walmart with whatever amount you give. they have such a wide selection of things.
Depends on how close you are to the boy in question as to how much, I say the closer you are the higher. If you arent close to him I say $20. If he is close family then $50. Wal Mart is a great choice, then he has a huge variety. I think more people like gift cards than gifts, that way they can get what they really want, plus they can have the fun of shopping if they dont usualy have money.
Yes. Gift cards are great but I would say give him a Mastercard or Visa gift card. That way he won't be limited in where he can shop. The amount depends on how close you are to him but I would say $50 is good
im not a boy. and im not 17 but i would not buy him a walmart card unless all he talks about is walmart. give him something to do. like if its a giftcard; get him one to hollister or abercrombie or someone if hes like a boy who always likes to be nice looking. and if that doesnt work, just give him like a $50.00 giftcard to spencer's gifts.=]
I think a Walmart gift card is a great idea. Those supercenters are so big he'll have a lot to choose from. Most teens of that age (especially boys) prefer to pick out their own gifts anyway (not to mention that they're hard to buy for). Go for the Walmart card..he'll appreciate that. As for money...around $40 or $50 sounds about right..especially since everything is so expensive these days.
Why not just give him cash? Depending on how close you are and what you can afford. I say $20.00 or more if you can would be great.
$50 gift card to walmart or to a music store because then he can pick out what he wants and it's not a boring gift. most people give gift cards because they don't know what to get the person
