Does Vancity Visa Prepaid Cards Work in United States?

Well my friend from Vancouver, Canada, just sent me a VanCity Visa Prepaid Gift Card, I was wondering can I use that in the United States? Thank you in advance.

1. it has the visa logo then yes you should have no problem
2. Yes, you should be able to use it, but I would not use it online. Since it is a Canadian issued card, you may be charged foreign transaction fees on each purchase in the U.S. The reason i said you should not use it online is that to use a card online, you need to call the card issuer (VanCity Visa) to register your card (add your name and billing address), otherwise it will be rejected. Now, you have a Canadian issued card, and you have a US billing address. That may raise some red flags with the card processor if used online.
3. It should work in the US, but don't try it for "pay at the pump" or online transactions as there may be a problem with the verification as it was issued in Canada. Good luck!
